Write for Petal Daybreak
Petal Daybreak welcomes considered pitches about flowers: how their forms work, how people grow or arrange them, and what can be learned by paying close attention to their place and season. Send proposals through the Contact page.
What fits
Strong contributions give a reader one clear subject to follow. We are interested in accessible explanations, comparisons, thoughtful histories, common misunderstandings, and focused pieces built around a particular flower-related setting or occasion. A pitch should have a distinct angle rather than cover flowers in general.
Make the pitch specific
Tell us the proposed title or working idea, the central question, the reader it is for, and what the piece will help that reader understand or notice. A short outline is useful when it shows how the article will move from its opening question to a concrete ending. Mention any specialist knowledge or material the proposal depends on without overstating it.
Send a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option to send a pitch. Please include your name, a way to reply, and the proposal in your message. A pitch is a proposal for consideration, not a promise of publication; do not send confidential material or claim firsthand testing that did not take place.
A flower is never only a colour
Its shape, timing, and place tell a fuller story. Petal Daybreak looks at those details, then brings the conversation back to what a reader can notice or try.
